Prof. Howard L. Adelson, president of the United Zionists-Revisionists of America, said today that his organization is lodging an appeal with the Congress Court of the World Zionist Organization claiming that the election of delegates to the 28th Zionist Congress was conducted by the American Zionist Federation in violation of the Court ruling last Nov.

Two weeks ago the UZ-R announced it would boycott the elections. At that time the UZ-R accused the AZF of violating the Court’s ruling on the distribution of 45 percent of the delegate seats from the US and that a new formula had been devised by the AZF “which equates the larger Revisionist movement with groups one-half and even one-fifth its size.”

In his statement today. Prof. Adelson said that “no adequate inspection” of lists of voters was provided and that “no effective means” for challenging “numerous irregularities” were given. He stated further that “an enormous quantity” of ballots was sent out to persons not entitled to vote, who were not members of any participating Zionist organization, that “numerous” duplications in voting were not screened or eliminated and that the safeguards ordered by the Court for the proper conduct of the elections “were brazenly disregarded.”

Prof. Adelson said the UZ-R appeal will be heard Sunday in Jerusalem by the Congress Court. He said the specifics of his charges will be disclosed at that time.
