A coin found by archaeologists during a dig on the shores of the Danube River has been identified as one of the Bar-Kochba coins, issued during the revolt of 132-135 C.E. The coin bears the Hebrew inscription, “In the Second Year of Israel,” which means that it was minted in 133 C.E. The obverse of the coin has the name Simon inscribed upon it and a picture of a palm tree.
