Russian Jewish political prisoner Raiza Palatnik suffered a heart attack Monday while in solitary confinement at her forced-labor camp, and was rushed to a civilian hospital at Dniepropetrovsk, Jewish sources said today. They said Russian Jews were expressing anxiety over the conditions of the 36-year-old librarian, who was sentenced last June 24 to two years’ imprisonment for “distributing anti-Soviet propaganda.” She is due for release next Dec. 1, the second anniversary of her arrest.
