TEL AVIV (Jul. 11)
Eleven persons were injured slightly when a small bomb exploded in the public lavatory at the Tel Aviv central bus terminal at noon today. The victims, all Israelis, were treated at a hospital as police searched the terminal for more bombs, cordoned off the area and arrested an undisclosed number of suspects for questioning. All but two of the injured were released by tonight. Damage to the lavatory was minor.
Police said the bomb contained about 100 grams of explosives and was planted in an area traversed by thousands of people every hour. Today’s bombing was the third at the Tel Aviv bus terminal. The earlier ones claimed three lives and injured scores of people. A bombing attempt at the Nathanya bus terminal July 4 was aborted when the device caught fire and ignited the clothes of the terrorist assembling it.
