A triennial colloquium has been established by the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds as a continuing memorial tribute to the late Sidney Hollander of Baltimore, it was announced today by Max M. Fisher, president of the CJFWF. The colloquium is intended to bring together the ablest thinkers and experts every three years to exchange and project advanced ideas on programs dealing with major community concerns, particularly in areas that were of direct interest to Sidney Hollander, Fisher said.
These include Jewish leadership in civil rights and liberties; public welfare and urban affairs; social welfare in its broadest definitions and coordination and cooperation in community and national services. Hollander, who died last year at the age of 90, was a nationally known communal leader and philanthropist. He served as president of the CJFWF from 1939-45 and was a life member of its board of directors.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
