The 25th anniversary of the State of Israel will be the theme of Jewish Book Month for November, Rabbi Eugene B. Borowitz, president of the Jewish Welfare Board’s Jewish Book Council, announced today. More than 2,000 Jewish organizations and groups around the country, including Jewish community centers, YM-YWHAs, Jewish schools, synagogues and JWB military units, observe Jewish Book Month, according to Dr. Borowitz.

The groups use JWB source material for ideas in education and programming. Among these will be Hannah Grad Goodman’s 26-page publication “Programming on Israel with Books.” Distributed also will be Sylvia Landress’ “Selected Books on Israel” and annotated bibliographies by Louise Renee Rosenberg named “Selected Paperbound Books of Jewish Interest.” This year’s Jewish Book Month begins Oct. 27 and ends November 26.
