Political and legal aspects of the Middle East conflict will be among the subjects dealt with in “Law and Policy Institute Abroad,” a four-week credit course at the Hebrew University in which 40 graduate students from United States law faculties enrolled last week. The course, in its third year, is sponsored by American University in Washington.
The program, conducted on the Hebrew University’s Mount Scopus campus, will compare the legal systems of Israel and other countries, including the US, and will study international law with special reference to such Mideast problems as waterways, refugees and Security Council Resolution 242.
The lecturers will include Supreme Court Justice Haim Cohn; Knesset members Yitzhak H. Klinghoffer and Gideon Hausner; Profs. Jacob Landau, Itzhak Zamir, Arye Lapidoth and Schneyer Z. Feller; Dr. Aharon M. Rabinowicz and Yehuda Blum, and Hebrew U vice president Bernard Cherrick.
