TEL AVIV (Sep. 19)
A number of anti-Semitic incidents in Minsk, one of them involving a relative of one of the Israeli Olympic athletes killed in Munich, were reported today by Jewish sources in the Soviet Union. The sources said that Daniel Slavin, 14-year-old nephew of slain Olympic wrestler Mark Slavin, was attacked by hooligans who threw acid on his face. He suffered burns but his eyes were saved.
The sources said that many Minsk Jews have received leaflets in the mail warning them to go to Israel “or we shall kill you.” The leaflets were signed “Black September,” the Arab terrorist group responsible for the Munich outrage. But they are believed to be the work of local hoodlums, the sources said.
