Delegates from Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama and Jamaica gathered here last week for the first Latin American B’nai B’rith youth conference. The delegates and the Central Jewish Committee sent cables to United Nations Secretary General Kurt Waldheim and to the Syrian Embassy in Washington protesting against persecutions of Syrian Jews and Jews in Arab lands. The telegrams called for an end to the harassment of Jews and for their right to emigrate.

Premier Golda Meir was second on the list of 10 women most admired in 1972 in the U.S., according to a Gallop Poll. Mrs. Pat Nixon was first.
