Jewish sources in the Soviet Union claimed Sunday that the Soviet propaganda machine was responsible for recent press reports from Vienna that Russian Jewish emigrants were petitioning for permission to return to the USSR because they were misled by Zionists about conditions in Israel. According to the sources, none of the Jews reportedly seeking to return are known to have applied for exit visas. All seem to have gotten their visas without the slightest difficulty, and the conclusion to be drawn, the sources said, is that these Jews are being “used” by the KGB.
