One of the three Arab assassins responsible for murdering Israeli Olympic team members last September is again in Western Europe. West German security services have been tipped off by Israeli intelligence. As a result, security checks on Arabs have been tightened even more at West German airports in recent days. All passengers have been requested not to carry luggage belonging to strangers as a favor. Frontier control posts have also been alerted.

The Foreign Ministry denied a statement by a Japanese Embassy official who said that Japan and Israel were conducting talks on mutual air line landing rights. A Ministry spokesman said that no such talks have been held so far. It was understood that Israel proposed talks with Japan about a year ago on mutual landing rights for El Al and Japan Airlines at Tokyo and Lod and is still waiting for Japan’s reply. The Counsellor at the Japanese Embassy in Tel Aviv, Jun Matsufuji, said last week that talks were in progress, but that JAL did not contemplate service soon to Israel.
