LONDON (Mar. 19)
Jewish sources in the Soviet Union report that the synagogue at Archipovo Street was packed to capacity for the reading of the Megila on Saturday night and that there were also many people attending the service Sunday morning. On Saturday night there was also an overflow in the vicinity of the synagogue, composed mostly of young people. The militia soon arrived and told them to disperse, the sources reported. No one was permitted to stand outside. They all dispersed and there were no arrests.
