Goldmann Believes Mideast Peace Chances Best in 25 Years

Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Jewish Congress, said today that be felt a great majority of Israelis were ready to make major concessions to secure peace and that the Arab states were prepared to recognize Israel and give up the pursuit of a military solution to the Middle East conflict. “For the first time in the 25 years of Israel’s existence,. I am optimistic about the chances for a settlement with the Arabs.” Goldmann told a press conference here.
