The National Jewish Commission on Law and Public Affairs has filed a brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in support of the New York and Pennsylvania state laws granting tax relief and tuition aid to parents sending their children to non-public schools, Howard I. Rhine, COLPA president, said.
He said the COLPA brief, which was prepared by Nathan Lewin, a Washington attorney and COLPA vice-president, points-out that this “limited help” given to non-public schools is in complete accord with the Supreme Court’s recent decisions reaffirming the ban on excessive government entanglement with religion.
