The issue of equal time for all political parties on State-owned radio and television was argued at a stormy session of the Knesset. The matter wasn’t resolved but the House struck from its agenda a motion by Shmuel Tamir of the Free Center faction charging that some parties get preference over others in the broadcasting media.

Minister-Without-Portfolio Israel Galili angrily rejected Tamir’s charge that the big parties were denying the smaller ones-access to the media. He contended that voters did not cast their ballots according to the amount of time each party had to air its views through the communications media.
