The State Department today termed the Arab terrorist attack on Athens Airport yesterday a “despicable action” and called for greater international efforts to curb such incidents. State Department spokesman Charles W. Bray said the attack was “clearly a deliberate armed attack against innocent people by terrorists.” It is a “grim reminder,” he said that the world community “must press rapidly for some effective means to prevent such outrages.” The attack he added, warrants the “strongest condemnation by the world community.”
