Ethiopia’s Emperor Haile Selassie has sent the Israeli Government and people his “Sincere feelings and hopes for an end to the human suffering and for all agreed solution to the Mideast problem which will provide lasting peace for the good of all peoples in the region,” The message was conveyed through Israel’s Ambassador in Addis Ababa, Hanan Eynor who had a 45-minute audience with the Emperor yesterday.
Officials here said Eynor had briefed Selassie on the military and political situation. They did not say at whose initiative the meeting was held, but seemed cheered at the Emperor’s message since so many African states have taken up pro-Egyptian positions.
