Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Jewish Congress, announced here yesterday that because the unexpectedly large number of delegates from all over the world had created serious practical problems, including problems of security, it had become necessary to postpone until the fall at a place to be determined later, the Plenary Assembly originally planned for The Hague from April 28 to May 6.

At the same time, Dr. Goldmann announced that the 50-member Governing Council of the Congress will meet for three days in Switzerland at the end of April, and will, among other matters, discuss further arrangements in connection with the postponed Assembly. Dr. Goldmann expressed the highest appreciation for the understanding and the cooperation received from the authorities who were engaged in the preparation of the Assembly in The Hague.
