Henriette Polak, the widow of one of The Netherlands’ foremost philosophers who died in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, is dead at the age of 80. Of a wealthy background, Mrs. Polak founded several foundations in honor of her philosopher husband, Leo Polak, who was arrested in the early days of the Nazi occupation of The Netherlands for his outspoken anti-Nazi stand. He died at Sachsenhausen in Dec, 1941. The foundations support cultural institutions and artists both in The Netherlands and Israel.
