According to reports here today, the American military mission that visited Egypt recently was disappointed by the refusal on the part of Egyptian authorities to show them Soviet-supplied weapons. Authoritative American government sources were quoted as saying that the United States mission had not been permitted to tour bases where Soviet-made missiles are kept or to see Soviet-made electronic equipment. The only weapon seen by the visitors was a Soviet made MIG-21 although the Americans had been interested in seeing the SAM-6 missile which was proven effective against Israel in the Yom Kippur War.
