The Director of Public Prosecution is considering proceedings under the Race Relations Act against the author and publishers of an anti-Semitic pamphlet which appeared here recently. The 28-page pamphlet, “Did Six Million Really Die? – The Truth At Last,” describes the death of six million Jews in Nazi-occupied Europe as “the most colossal piece of fiction” and the “most successful of deceptions.”

The pamphlet also claims that the “enormous fraud” was committed with the deliberate intention of blackmailing the world into accepting the establishment of the State of Israel, and in order to secure financial gain by way of German reparations.

The pamphlet, written under a pseudonym, was published by a so-called “Historical Review Press,” and although the neo-Fascist “National Front” has disclaimed all responsibility for it, it bears a close resemblance to the National Front’s monthly magazine, “Spearhead.” Moreover, Robin Beauclair, a senior NF member, has been discovered to have been associated with the publication, a fact which he is not denying.

Copies of the pamphlet were sent to the Director of Public Prosecution by Paul Rose, MP, and by the Board of Deputies of British Jews. The latter asked that legal action be taken on the grounds that the pamphlet indicated “an intention to stir up racial hatred” as defined in Section 6 of the Race Relations Act.

OTHER ANTI-SEMITIC CAMPAIGNS

Following the Director of Public Prosecution’s reply that no such intention could be proved in this case, the Board has now asked him to consider prosecution on the grounds that a false name and address were used in the publication.

Spokesmen for the Association of Jewish exServicemen and Women (AJEX) and the Association of Jewish Refugees described today what they regarded as a concerted anti-Semitic campaign by right-wing and fascist organizations in several West European countries.

The spokesmen pointed out the recent upsurge of anti-Semitism in France and the appearance in Frankfurt of another anti-Semitic booklet entitled “Die Auschwitzluege” (“The Lie of Auschwitz”), by Manfred Roeder, in which the author tries to whitewash the atrocities perpetrated in the notorious concentration camp and accuses Jews of “distorting the picture” for their personal gain.

A third book with similar objectives, “It Never Happened After All,” by Edwin Horton, was published here by Brian Williams of the “Christian Militants,” a well-known anti-Semitic campaigner, and is being distributed in other English speaking countries.
