Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Sheik Omar Sakaf said in a newspaper interview here that Israel must withdraw to the pre-1967 borders if a peace settlement is to be reached in the Middle East. When asked whether Saudi Arabia would recognize the Jewish State if it agreed to withdraw to these borders, he replied: “There are many countries existing today without our recognition.” Sakaf, currently on a tour of the Scandinavian countries, made these statements to the Danish daily. “Berlingske Tidende,” before leaving Denmark for Sweden.

FLASH! Heinrich Spetter, sentenced to death in Bulgaria for spying, arrived in Israel Thursday night. The Foreign Ministry said Israel’s efforts to secure his release on humanitarian grounds had proven successful.
