Rabbi Israel Miller, chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations reported a “fantastic response” today to a call for a massive rally outside the United Nations Nov. 4 to protest its invitation to the Palestine Liberation Organization. Rabbi Miller said that trade unions and Jewish community groups from 13 states along the Eastern seaboard would participate in the demonstration.

He also announced that former Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Dayan, former Foreign Minister Abba Eban, Sens. Henry M. Jackson and Jacob K. Javits and former U.S. Attorney General Ramsay Clark would be among the speakers at the anti-terrorist rally at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza next Monday.

“Thousands of trade union members of every race, color and creed and all crafts and industries are going to protest against the PLO terrorists.” Rabbi Miller said. He reported that more than a dozen unions were joining in half page advertisements to appear Friday in New York City’s three major dailies urging union members to leave their jobs to take part in the rally. He said that local Jewish groups, from Massachusetts to Georgia, in efforts coordinated by the National Jewish Community Relations Advisory Council, will be sending busloads and car caravans to the demonstration sponsored by the Presidents Conference.
