The New York City Cash Mission of the United Jewish Appeal left Israel Sunday with a resolution to raise $100 million in cash by the end of the year, the Israel office of the UJA announced. The mission, led by Theodore Silbert and Martin Altman, spent four days in Israel for an in-depth briefing of security and humanitarian needs. The 26 mission members spent time in Ashdod, at a Jewish Agency youth day center and home for the aged and at an absorption center with new immigrants from the Soviet Union.
