Viktor Stern, son of Dr. Mikhail Stern, was threatened with arrest on “parasitism” charges by Soviet police, it was learned today by the Greater New York Conference on Soviet Jewry. Dr. Stern, sentenced to eight years in hard labor is now in a Vinnitsa prison awaiting transfer to a Soviet labor camp. In a further attempt to isolate Dr. Stern from his family and friends, his wife Ida was told by militia officials that Viktor would find himself in the same situation as his father if he did not find employment. The Stern’s younger son, August, is now visiting the United States in behalf of his father.
