A gift of medicines, for the relief of Rumanian flood victims, has been sent by the Hadassah Medical Organization to the Israel government to dispatch to the Rumanian government. The gift consists of about half a ton of medicines and comprises a large quantity of penicillin tablets, about 300,000 analgesic tablets (aspirin) and about 400 kilos of sulfamylon burn ointment.
Last week the Rumanian Charge d’Affaires in Israel asked the Israel government to help his country with provisions of phosphates, cattle feed and also long term credit. Foreign Minister Yigal Allon and Commerce Minister Haim Barlev assured him that the requests would be carefully considered. Meanwhile the Israel-Rumanian Friendship League in Tel Aviv has launched an appeal among the Israeli public to aid Rumanian flood victims.
