The Jewish National Fund plans to plant more than one million trees this season in the Negev and Sinai areas. More than 200,000 trees are earmarked for the “Yatir Forest” on the southern slopes of the Hebron mountain range. There will be 6000 saplings planted at Dl-Zahav, on the Sinai coast south of Eilat, and another 13,000 at Sharm el-Sheikh. Other priority areas are the Arabs and the northern Negev where trees are vital in controlling flooding.
