Britain has assured Israel that there will be no more anti-Israeli discrimination by British Airways, the state-controlled aviation company. Gad Yaacobi, Israeli Transport Minister, said he had received the assurance from Stanley Clinton Davis, British Parliamentary Undersecretary in charge of transport matters.
Davis had been shown about six examples of Israel’s name being omitted from British Airways publicity material. He gave explanations for each one but assured Yaacobi that such cases would not happen again.
However, the list of complaints did not include British Airways’ practice, revealed last week by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, of publishing a second "Arab" edition of its world-wide timetable excluding the services to Israel. (See May 6 issue of the Daily News Bulletin, P. 4.)
