The Argentine Jewish poet, Jose Isaacson, has been awarded Argentina’s highest literary prize, the 1975 Great Prize of Honor given by the Argentine Writers Society. The prize, which is given for a writer’s overall work, will be presented June 11. The 54-year-old Isaacson, a mathematics professor at the Technological Institute, has published several books of poetry. His latest book is called “Kafka, the Project of Impossibility.”
Isaacson has been editor of “Comentario” for the past several years, a Spanish version of “Commentary,” and is on the literary staff of the newspaper. “La Nacion.” In 1973 he received the National Award for the Science of Language and in 1969 the Buenos Aires Municipal Award for first prize in essay.
