Harold Dinerman Dead at 47

Funeral services were held today for Harold Dinerman, director of Community Services of the National Jewish Welfare Board, who died yesterday at the age of 47 after a long illness. Burial was at Maplewood. New Jersey.

Mr. Dinerman joined the staff of the JWB in 1965 as associate director of the Support and Development Services after having served as assistant executive director of the YM-YWHA of Essex County, N.J. He became director of the SDS in 1966 and director of Community Services in 1968. He was responsible for the supervision of the JWB’s community consultants and of community programs for Jewish military families, hospitalized-veterans and other personnel.

Mr. Dinerman was educated at City College. New York and Columbia University where he received a Master of Science degree in social work in 1953. He was subsequently employed by the Council on Student Travel as recreation director aboard student ships to Europe. He also served with the Jewish Community Center of Englewood. N.J., Mt. Vernon, N.Y. and other agencies.
