Donations to the Israel Defense Force in the wake of the rescue of the hostages in Uganda continue to pour in. Ofer Brothers Ltd., a Haifa shipping firm, has announced it is buying the navy a $1 million boat and is donating $150,000 in cash and one day’s salary of all its employes.

Zvi Belski, one of the freed hostages, has donated IL 100 for the Israeli forces. Belski, who said the gomel prayer (prayer of thanks after a hazardous experience) upon his return, noted that “what to God is to God, what to soldiers is to soldiers.”

Meanwhile, a new overpass in the center of Tel Aviv has been named the “Eagles Bridge” in honor of the Israeli forces which took part in the rescue in Uganda. The IL 10 million overpass is aimed at improving the traffic flow from Tel Aviv to Ramat Gan and Petach Tikva.
