Wilson, Sisco, Zadok to Address Hadassah Convention in Washington

Harold Wilson, former Prime Minister of Britain, Joseph Sisco, former Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs, Haim Zadok, Israeli Minister of Justice, and Simcha Dinitz, Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S., are among the speakers to address Hadassah’s 62nd annual national convention at the Washington Hilton Hotel Aug. 15-18, it was announced here by Rose E. Matzkin, national president of Hadassah. Wilson will receive the Henrietta Szold Award, Hadassah’s highest, at the convention banquet Aug. 17.

About 2500 delegates, representing over 350,000 members from every state, including Puerto Rico, will attend the four-day convention which will elect a new president this year. Mrs. Matzkin is completing her fourth and final one-year term. In addition to hearing reports, projecting plans, voting budgets and quotas and participating in seminars and workshops, the delegates will hear addresses by authorities in the field of Hadassah’s special interests.

The new Hadassah Fashion Show from Israel will be premiered on opening day before it tours the country. The collection was designed and executed by students at the Hadassah Seligsberg Brandeis Comprehensive High School in Jerusalem.
