Israel’s Ambassador to France, Mordechai Gazit, returned to Paris Thursday after a 23-day absence meant to mark Israel’s dissatisfaction at France’s release of Palestinian terrorist Abu Daoud.

Gazit, who was welcomed by representatives of France’s major non-Communist parties, stressed that he will inform France “of Israel’s point of view and position (on the Abu Daoud affair).” He refused to say at what level he will make his presentation but diplomatic circles believe he will ask for an audience with French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing.

The Israeli Ambassador said that French Foreign Minister Louis de Guiringaud’s visit to Israel Feb. 27 “was still being studied” in Jerusalem. He is also due to meet this week with Israeli Foreign Minister Yigal Allon in Brussels, but this meeting is not yet definite either.
