VIENNA (Aug. 31)
The Bishop of the Austrian Protestant Church, Oskar Sakrausky, yesterday condemned recent anti-Semitic actions in Vienna. In an appeal to all members of the Protestant Church, the Bishop asked them to join him in condemning anti-Semitism. “We must act to nip any anti-Semitism in the bud before it is too late.” Sakrausky said. He referred to recent incidents in which a Jewish cemetery, a synagogue, and a monument for Sigmund Freud were daubed with swastikas and anti-Semitic slogans.
