Representatives from some 15 major Jewish women’s organizations met yesterday at the office of the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) to map their participation at the forthcoming International Women’s Year Conference (IWY) to be held in Houston Nov. 19-22.

Uniting to demonstrate more effectively their support of the goals and objectives of the conference, the group voted to bring to the attention of the American public their support as Jewish organizations and as individuals, of the purpose and program of the IWY Conference. They agreed that the drive for equality of opportunity for all Americans has long been a priority item in the American Jewish community.

The representatives expressed support of the aim of the conference to provide a forum for discussion, and an opportunity to bring to the Congress and the President resolutions of American women on crucial issues of the day. They pledged vigorous efforts in rallying their membership around the country to participate actively in the Houston meeting. The participants also expressed support of speedy ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment and pledged their efforts to work to that end.
