Yad Vashem awarded Tuesday its highest decoration to a Czechoslovak couple, Maria and Jan Caraj, for their part in saving Jewish lives during World War II. Jan planted a tree in his name and the name of his late wife, Maria, in the Forest of the Righteous Gentiles.
