Rabbi Pinhas Kahlenberg, the chief Jewish chaplain with the Belgian armed forces, has been made a Knight of the Order of Leopold. The royal award, the highest in Belgium, was based on Kahlenberg’s 20 years of service with the Belgian army and his “major contribution” to the country’s defense potential.
