A spokesman for Jerusalem’s Hadassah Hospital said today that another slight deterioration had occurred in the condition of former Premier Golda Meir, who has been hospitalized in the medical center’s hematology ward intermittently for the past four months.

The spokesman said that Mrs. Meir had developed a liver infection and was suffering from severe stomach pains, in addition to a case of jaundice. Physicians at the hospital are still conducting examinations to determine the source of the jaundice. The spokesman added that Mrs. Meir was fully conscious.

Former Premier Yitzhak Rabin attempted to visit his colleague today, but the physicians treating her refused to permit him to enter the ward. A group of high school students conducted a fullscale prayer service on her behalf at the Western Wall this morning.
