Swaziland Premier to Visit Israel

Premier Maphevu Dhlamini of Swaziland is scheduled to pay a state visit to Israel beginning Thursday. Swaziland, which borders on South Africa and Mozambique, is one of the few Black African countries to maintain diplomatic relations with Israel. Dhlamini, who is also his country’s foreign minister and army commander, will be accompanied by the Swazi Ministers of Finance and Justice and other top officials.

The Swazi guests will be formally hosted by Premier Menachem Begin and Foreign Minister Moshe Dayan, and they will hold economic talks with Finance Minister Simcha Ehrlich. They will be accompanied by Israel’s Ambassador to Swaziland, Emmanuel Ron. Dhlamini is expected to ask Israel for further technical and economic aid.
