The Cabinet today approved trips to Cairo later this month by Defense Minister Ezer Weizman and Deputy Premier Yigael Yadin. Weizman will leave early next week for discussions of the military aspects of Israel’s withdrawal from Sinai. Yadin, an internationally known archaeologist, was invited by President Anwar Sadat to visit Egyptian museums. He will leave shortly after the Passover holidays.

Weizman will be accompanied by his wife and an official party, including Gen. Rafael Eitan, Chief of Staff of Israel’s armed forces, the head of military intelligence, and ranking officials who will participate in joint Israeli-Egyptian talks on implementing the peace treaty signed last month. Weizman’s wife, Reuma, will visit children’s institutions. The visit by Weizman and his entourage will last three days and they are expected back in Israel on the eve of the last day of Passover. The group will be carrying matzoh with them for Passover.
