TORONTO (Mar. 30)
— Robert Kaplan, Canada’s new Solicitor General, will meet Nazi-hunter Simon Wiesenthal in Washington April 13 to obtain evidence for legal action against war criminals presently residing in Canada. “I hope to get documentation and leads on witnesses against Canadian citizens who have committed war crimes,” said Kaplan, who is also a Toronto Member of Parliament. Sources said that previous Canadian governments have been criticized for inaction in this area and added that this is the first time any Canadian government indicated action on the issue.
