3 Expelled West Bank Officials Denounce Israeli Occupation

The three West Bank Arab leaders who were expelled on May 2 by the Israeli military authorities, following the murder of six yeshiva students in Hebron, held a press conference last Friday here in which they denounced the Israeli occupation and said they had come here to obtain their return to the West Bank.

The press conference was sponsored by the Palestine Liberation Organization observes here, Labib Terzi, Mayor Fahed Kawasme of Hebron, Mayor Mohammed Milnim of Halhoul and Kadi (Moslem judge) Rajeb Buyud Tamimi attacked the United States for its continuing support of Israel for what they said was “building settlements in the occupied West Bank.”

They also said that they were expelled unjustly and illegally from their homes and that they did not know of the attack on the yeshiva students in advance. Milhim compared the Israeli occupation to the Nazi occupation of Europe, charging that the Israeli “demolish our houses and torture us. “The three West Bank officials said the Palestinians in the West Bank reject the autonomy talks and the Comp David accords.

A meeting of the Security Council is scheduled for tomorrow and the three West Bank officials are expected to speak before the Council.
