The Indian government has refused to grant visas to a two-member Israeli delegation to attend the conference of the unaffiliated international Civil Airport Authority (ICAA) scheduled to open in New Delhi shortly.
Israel had been invited to the conference which will be attended by delegates from 100 other member states of the ICAA. The Indian authorities agreed to issue visas limiting the Israelis’ stay in the country to one month. The ICAA secretariate recently informed Israel, however, that India will not grant the visas under any conditions. India does not have diplomatic relations with Israel.
The Israel Airports Authority reported that it has failed to get the ICAA and the U.S. representatives on that body to press the Indians to grant the visas they had previously promised.
