The Congressional Wives for Soviet Jewry, an affiliate organization of the National Conference for Soviet Jewry (NCSJ), and the Canadian Parliamentary Spouses Association, issued a joint statement in Ottawa urging the Soviet Union to re-open the gates of emigration for Soviet Jews. The two parliamentary wives groups agreed to meet next year in Washington with other parliamentary spouse groups from around the world.
