Cpl. Avi Schechter, a 20-year-old Israeli soldier, died last night of wounds he suffered a month ago when his convoy was ambushed in south Lebanon, the army announced today. He is to be buried in Haifa this afternoon.
Schechter and another soldier were wounded and three of their comrades were killed instantly when they came under fire near Kamed E-Luz village in the eastern sector of the front.
