The incidence of divorce in Israel is growing and has reached the level of 1.3 divorces per 1,000 citizens, Nitza Ben-Dor, a lecturer at Haifa University, told a recent symposium on divorce. However, this figure is still far below the 5.5 divorces per 1,000 citizens in the U.S. and 2 to 3 per 1,000 in Europe, he said.
