Natan Virshulsky, a young religious Jew, was arrested in Kiev on charges of allegedly “stealing books from a synagogue library,” the National Conference on Soviet Jews reported Tuesday. Virshulsky, who is from Moscow, was in Kiev to visit his wife’s parents when the arrest was made. His arrest is among a series of actions taken against the religious Jewish community in recent months, the Conference said.
