The Canadian Jewish Congress’ national executive committee last week adopted a resolution affirming its “repugnance of apartheid as alien to the Jewish ethic.” The resolution added: “We call on the South African government to abolish without delay any laws based on racial discrimination and to bring about a just society based on negotiations with all races.” The resolution follows a similar motion adopted at the Commonwealth Jewish Council conference recently held in Ottawa.
