A 300-ton relief supply of food and medicine arrived over the weekend in Sarajevo, the besieged capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina, according to the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, which organized the shipment.

The shipment included antibiotics and other medical supplies, as well as non-perishable foods such as sugar, flour, rice and baby food, which can be stored throughout the winter.

The shipment is the fifth and largest delivery of supplies organized by the JDC.

The shipment was enabled by the British-based World Jewish Relief organization and the Jewish communities of Sarajevo and Zagreb.
