Excavation work has begun on an ancient gate in the well surrounding the Old City here.
The gate was found some 100 feet west of the Dung Gate.
Archaeologists from the Antiquities Authority dated the gate from the 12the century. It was sealed during Ottoman rule over the city, they said.
